Chaotic Good Minotaur Warrior

Created by

Allen Hawkins

A figure of awe, inspiring terror to his enemies, Taurs stands at an enormous 7' 1" and is mound upon mound of muscle. Never known to smile, Taurs always has an indifferent look on his face, unless in the deep throes of battle; he then becomes a bloodthirsty menace. He carries a large adamantite axe named Kagan that is rumored to be smarter than the beast that wields it. His armor, full plate, is covered with etchings and numerous battle scars from the countless battles he has been involved in throughout his 30 years some odd years of adventuring.

Note: Throughout his entire life, Taurs was told to do things for his own good because he is very stupid. Some odd years ago, at about 15th level, Taurs found Kagan the battle axe and they instantly became famous friends. Kagan helps Taurs by being the brains of the unlikely duo. Both being of like alignments, they have hit it off really well over the years.

Background

Darkness is the first thing Taurs the minotaur remembers of his past. He awoke in the darkness of a cave alone and went into a bloodthirsty rage, killing everything in the cave that crossed his path, sharpening his senses for the smell of blood. No creature in the cave could match his strength, save one creature that lived in the cave also. This tentacled panther-like beast was incredibly intelligent and it and Taurs were enemies for twenty years, fighting for food and territory. Taurs was eventually the victor by dropping a large boulder on the thing while it was engaged with a group of hook horrors. He did not feel any happiness for his victory for he did not know what it was. He only knew blood and he started with the hook horrors that had helped him to slay the displacer beast.

Some years later, roaming the corridors of his cave, Taurs came on an old human. How yum yum, he thought. Food like dis comes alon onzy ever feu years when some stupid human come. He approached the human with a full charge and as soon as he did the human spun to face him, moving his hands frantically. Taurs stopped in his tracks. He was furious beyond all measure. How he wondered had this thing trapped him. The old human, at a closer glance, wore white robes and carried a smashing weapon. Taurs still could not move and had eventually given up his fight after about an hour of struggling with the invisible bonds. The whole time he was stuck, the old human set a camp around him. The spell soon started to dissipate, and Taurs was about to get free when he cast it again.

Over the next few weeks, after the old man had somehow permanently bonded Taurs, the old one spoke to Taurs and enlightened him of the outside world. Taurs had never heard of something so beautiful, nor feelings like this one had. Images flooded over Taurs, of sunny fields and magnificent cities towering to the sky. There was something in him that wanted to see these places and be a part of them. Slowly Taurs came to actually like the old man despite his captivity.

One day the old priest released Taurs from his constant binds. To the old man's surprise this primal creature did not attack, but managed to ask the old man if he could leave the cave with the old man to see this world. The old man and Taurs traveled together for some time, and saw many parts of Western Glashia in his travels and got his fair share of insults from the peoples. He learned many things from the old man before his death after five years of travels, when Taurs and he came on a Roc that ripped apart the old man. Taurs commenced to go into a berzerk rage on the large bird, tearing it apart. He buried the old man in a sunny field on a high hill and marked the grave with the Roc's skull.

Taurs then went on his own quest throughout the lands of Western Glashia to become more powerful and carry on his life the only way he knew how. He traveled with several adventuring parties that took advantage of his strength and his naivet, cutting him out of his share of treasure. Many years later, leading a special forces group for an ongoing war between two warring nobles, Taurs came on a Hill giant party that he commenced to dismember in his usual manner. The leader of the Hill giants had a large axe that looked fantastic in the eyes of the large beast so he took it and met his best friend, Kagan the battle axe. Throughout the following years Taurs learned many things from the highly intelligent axe, like reading and writing, battle tactics, and leadership, effectively raising the beasts intelligence. Taurs and the axe then went to lead several wars throughout Western Glashia, earning renown as a powerful general throughout the lands, bring known as "That Bloody Terror" in every county from the Independent State to the Josurrian Reach.
